On-line Payment

NeatWorx.COM uses PayPal's merchant service called "Website Payment Standard". This service has the advantage that it is free to subscribe to for merchants, it is secure, and PayPal is widely recognized and trusted as a means of providing secure payment on-line. This means that your customers or members will be comfortable using the payment service. NeatWorx.COM is built to make use of PayPal's payment interface and supports a variety of different types of payment authorizations including donations, purchases and subscriptions.

While on-line payment is not essential if you are using the NeatWorx.COM service, it is a powerful capability that many organizations will want to take advantage of in future if not immediately. Setting up a Merchant PayPal account is free and takes approximately 20 minutes. All you need is a cheque that has your organization's bank account information. As a part of the startup service for NeatWorx.COM we will optionally help customers through this process. After this you can simply use the NeatWorx.COM facilities for setting up events that have payments associated with them without any limitations.

The primary means of accessing the Payment related functions in NeatWorx.COM is through the events module. (Although a simple Invoicing Facility is also available for convenience). When events are created, event administrators are asked whether payment is required for their event and whether the cost is known. Event administrators may also setup registration activities where on-line payment is optional and provide instructions for an alternate means of payment. If payment is required, on-line payment becomes a required part of the registration process, and registrations are not accepted until payment has been validated. There are two interfaces to the event management system. The first interface is visible only to site administrators where they describe the attributes associated with events. For users of the system, they will see payment simply as a feature of on-line registration and they will be directed seamlessly to PayPal for event types that require payment. On-line registration links can be invoked from any web page, from the club calendar, from a user defined menu option or from a link embedded in an e-mail message or newsletter. NeatWorx.COM supports deposits to multiple bank accounts via PayPal, each event must authorize deposits only to a single account.

NeatWorx.COM levies no fees for the use of on-line payment. The PayPal service will cost merchants 2.9% of the value of each on-line payment transaction (or amounts as per PayPal terms and conditions outlined at www.paypal.com) inclusive of credit card processing charges. Despite this nominal cost, the merchant has the advantage of receiving immediate payment

The NeatWorx.COM software is a "deposit only" interface. NeatWorx.COM using PayPal can only put money into a club's bank account so there is no risk of unauthorized withdrawal. Furthermore, NeatWorx.COM does not need to store a club's PayPal password meaning that even if the site is hacked or compromised, there is no risk of confidential banking information being exposed. The design of the system is such that NeatWorx.COM does not maintain any credit card or banking information for your membership on-line removing this entirely as a source of risk to the club. Any payment transactions are conducted directly between your member and PayPal with funds being deposited in your bank account only once the payment transaction has completed and authorized by the member. Note that while members may elect to use their own personal PayPal accounts to authorize payment, it is not required. Visitors to your web-site can provide payment using any major credit card or via a PayPal account if they have one.
